Problem
Using the New Issue View, subtasks cannot be added to Epics directly, except when there is already a pre-existing Subtasks section in the EPIC - JRACLOUD-72060
That said, there is another scenario, that happens only when the user does not have "Create Issues" permission on the project, where "Subtasks" option is shown under Add Menu for EPICs (like below)
Though the option is displayed, with no "Create Issues" permission, user will not be able to go ahead with the creation. Below error gets thrown
This is therefore a cosmetic bug and the "Subtask" option should be appropriately removed in this particular case.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create an EPIC type issue.
- Login as a user who does not have "Create Issues" permission on the project.
- Click on the Quick Add (+Add) menu
- Observe "Subtask" option showing up.
Expected Results
Subtask option should not be shown.
Actual Results
Subtask Option is shown.
Workaround
No workaround available. However, this is just a cosmetic bug. User cannot complete the process of subtask creation owing to lack of permission.
