Issue Summary

Jira does not remove the group which is deleted from Active Directory or MS Azure Directory under Project's Users&Roles

Steps to Reproduce

1. Setup Jira 8.20.1 or later:
2. Configure AD and Synchronise:
   
3. Create a group and add some users:
   
4. Synchronise AD:
   
5. The Group should be visible:
   
6. Create a Project and add the AD group as Administrator Role in User&Roles of the Project:
   
7. Go to Active Directory and Delete the group:
   
8. Synchronise AD again:
   
9. Remove the Group from the Project:
   
10. The group is removed:
    
11. Refresh the page, the deleted groups comes back:
    
12. Removed Active Directory itself from Jira:
    
13. But still the group still exists:
    

Expected Results

The deleted groups should not appears in Users and Roles of the Project

Actual Results

The deleted groups are not removed from the Project

Workaround

There is no workaround
